Crawford Lab

We are part of the Department of Biochemistry

@ the University of Nebraska-Lincoln

We are also affiliated with the Nebraska Center for Integrated Biomolecular Communication (CIBC) and the Nebraska Center for Virology

For current news and updates please see here: News and Events

The Crawford lab explores how viruses manipulate the human immune system.

Current projects focus on how HCMV (human cytomegalovirus, a common human herpesvirus)

infects and controls hematopoietic stem cells.

We ask fundamental questions about:

  • virus biology

  • stem cell biology

  • immune system development

Using tools and techniques from:

  • biochemistry

  • virology

  • immunology

  • stem cell biology

For more about our research, our funding sources, or recent publications please see the relevant pages.

If you are interested in joining the lab, we are recruiting at all levels, please see here.
